Coexistence

Natalija R. Črnčec & Nina Šulin | SI

This installation is conceived as construction of the appearance of colour in its formation, glow and wane. It consists of a multitude of handmade dotted and coloured organic forms, some sort of cocoons that inhabit a darkened place with their glowing shells.

Coexistences work as a unified organism of unknown colour matter, as a suggestive visual landscape that seduces the visitor and literally sucks them in: the project also seeks to outline the excessive experience of both (co)existence and (co)creation through a game of thickening and approaching.

The experimental sound backdrop accompanying the layout was created by Andrej Hrvatin.

Team

Natalija R. Črnčec graduated in 1996 at the Department of Visual Arts at the Faculty of Pedagogy in her native Maribor. As an artist she mostly focuses on the issues with colour and light, thematised in spatial installations and paintings.

Nina Šulin graduated in 2008 at the Department of Visual Arts at the Faculty of Pedagogy in Maribor and achieved her Master’s degree in 2014 at AGRFT in Ljubljana in scene and costume design. She’s an independent artist in the fields of theatre costume and scene design, puppet arts and illustration. Andrej Hrvatin is a musician, a sound designer and producer who co-created many works from jazz, ethno and rock genres. He also works in radio production and he’s contributed to many dance and theatre shows.
